The Spanish IEEE Young Professionals community held an event at the University of Cartagena with the purpose of celebrating the SWYP congress through an innovative activity, Young Professionals´ Tour – Be a Rock Star.
The event was composed of young engineers in their early career as speakers who had so much to share with the audience.
A total of 55 volunteers mostly who came from different IEEE Student Branches of Spain, were delighted with one to one chats. The passionate speakers’ words entailed a breath of fresh air to their vocation.
In Cartagena´s stage of this star tour, the invited young professionals were:
- Emilio Gomez Mansilla – Design Engineer at Emxys
- Tulia Espinosa – Industrial Engineer at Navantia
- José David Trapero – CTO at PENBERIC
- Laura Galián – Regional Sales Manager at Vodafone
- Santiago Ros – Project Manager OEEBT
- Cristina Varona – Founder of Useful Wastes, S.L.
Interesting ideas and topics such as working world, future studies, family conciliation, and volunteering with IEEE were discussed.
The event finished with more relaxed activities allowing participants and speakers to engage and connect. Those were a visit to the ancient Roman theatre and a boat tour.
An extra edition of this event will be held in Madrid in the following months.
