Adrian Mircea Nenu
Adrian is a computer scientist and artificial intelligence researcher, currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at the University of Manchester. His research focuses on reinforcement learning and reasoning systems, with an emphasis on grounding theoretical advances in scalable, real-world systems.
Professionally, Adrian has worked across industry and research-intensive environments. He began his career at Morgan Stanley, contributing to large-scale data systems and graph-based analytics, before joining Google in the United States. At Google, he worked on production systems combining distributed infrastructure, graphs, and machine learning, gaining hands-on experience with complex, large-scale coordination and decision-making systems.
Alongside his research career, Adrian is an active contributor to the IEEE Young Professionals community. He currently serves as Volunteering Subcommittee Chair on the IEEE YP Committee, leading the volunteering platform and ambassador program, coordinating stakeholders, and developing new initiatives. Previously, he was Lead for Platform Management of the IEEE Volunteering Platform, where he supported platform improvements, analysed adoption trends, and worked closely with IEEE IT and ambassador teams to expand engagement and impact within the global YP community.
