Susana Lau is an Electronics and Telecommunications Engineer (2011) with a Master's in Information Technology from Carnegie Mellon University (2015), supported by a Fulbright-Senacyt scholarship.

She has 10+ years of IT project experience in Panama and Silicon Valley and founded EtyaLab in 2015, delivering 60+ tech projects for 40+ clients, including apps, e-commerce, and custom solutions. In 2016, she launched Mercadito, a mobile agri-tech startup, earning recognition as one of Forbes' 30 Business Promises (2019) and winning multiple national and international awards.

Susana has been featured in Forbes' 100 Powerful Women (2020, 2021) and actively supports women in STEM, mentoring at Startup Weekends and speaking at various events. PastIEEE Panama Section Chair (2023–2024) and former WIE Panama Chair (2019–2020), she led initiatives impacting 500+ students and earning global awards, including the WIE Inspiring Member of the Year and Affinity Group of the Year. She currently serves as VP of Products for IEEE Entrepreneurship.

In 2021, she co-founded the CREEA Foundation to foster education, culture, and entrepreneurship in Panama, training 300+ entrepreneurs with the U.S. Embassy’s Community Champions program.

She also serves on the boards of an insurance company and a bank, contributing to technology, audit, risk, and ethics committees.
