Arduino Day Guatemala City 2026

August 28 @ 8:00 am - September 28 @ 6:00 pm

On August 28, 2026, Universidad Galileo in Guatemala City hosted the historic Arduino Day 2026, an event that marked an ambitious in-person comeback after a decade of community history.
The event was organized and led by the Arduino Guatemala Community, with invaluable sponsorship support.
The main purpose was to foster a culture of open-source hardware and democratize access to cutting-edge technologies, creating learning paths for all levels — from lighting an LED to deploying Artificial Intelligence on microcontrollers. For IEEE Young Professionals members, this space represented a vital platform for networking, staying current on global trends (such as Edge AI, supercomputing, IoT, and LLMs applied to hardware), and strengthening practical skills essential for the future of engineering in the region.
The event's success exceeded expectations. We had the honor of an in-person opening talk by David Cuartielles, co-founder of Arduino. The program included three simultaneous tracks and more than 10 talks delivered by experts from Guatemala, Mexico, Latin America, and Europe, covering everything from open-tool chip design to advanced robotics.
The response from the Guatemalan community was overwhelming, filling the limited available spots and bringing together an intergenerational audience passionate about technology. Arduino Day 2026 demonstrated that world-class technology is being forged in Guatemala and reaffirmed IEEE's commitment to supporting initiatives that inspire the next leaders of the tech industry.
