Tech with Purpose: Empowering Young Professionals through IEEE Humanitarian Technologies and SIGHT

IEEE Iraq Section Young Professionals invites IEEE members, students, engineers, researchers, and community partners to an online webinar exploring how young professionals can apply engineering and technology to humanitarian and community challenges.
Dr. Hussein Mahdi will introduce the IEEE Humanitarian Technologies Board, IEEE SIGHT, humanitarian technology programs, volunteering pathways, and the principles of community-centred project development. The session will discuss how engineers can identify community needs, work with local stakeholders, and develop sustainable technology-based solutions with measurable social value.
The webinar will also introduce the proposed IEEE Iraq Section SIGHT Group, whose petition is currently under evaluation. Its initial area of interest is Hadriyah Village in Babil Governorate, with possible future initiatives related to clean energy, digital connectivity, and access to educational resources. Any future activity will be based on a community needs assessment and cooperation with relevant stakeholders.
