SUMMARY:Beyond Membership: Exploring IEEE Young Professionals
DESCRIPTION:Beyond Membership: Exploring IEEE Young Professionals is an interactive\, insight driven session designed to introduce attendees to the full value\, purpose\, and opportunities within the IEEE Young Professionals (YP) community. Whether you're a recent graduate\, an early career engineer\, or a section leader looking to strengthen engagement\, this event will illuminate how YP goes far beyond a membership label. It’s a launchpad for leadership\, networking\, and professional growth.\nParticipants will explore what it means to build and sustain a thriving YP affinity group\, how to take on leadership roles\, and the impact YP initiatives can have across IEEE Region 3. Through real examples\, practical guidance\, and open discussion\, attendees will gain a clear understanding of how to start\, support\, or elevate a YP group in their local section.\nThis session is ideal for anyone curious about the YP mission\, interested in stepping into leadership\, or eager to help shape the next generation of IEEE innovators.\nVirtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/562729

SUMMARY:IEEE HSF Young Professionals

SUMMARY:Industry open house: PhD internships in AI
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThere is a growing demand for AI engineering expertise in Australia. Two underutilised approaches to meet this demand include hiring directly from PhD programs and establishing a pipeline of talent via PhD internship programs. The open house is intended to discuss the value of PhD internships\, how they support internal capabilities\, and how to tap into collaborative relationships with universities\, particularly in cutting-edge and fast-moving areas like AI.\nEmployers\, including Technical Champions (leading AI-driven teams) and HR personnel\, are eligible for complimentary registration. Please indicate this in the required question during registration.\nLearning outcomes\nIn this presentation\, you will learn from industry leaders and universities who are collaborating with Engineers Australia about the availability of emerging AI talent in Australia and how to leverage PhD internships to access this talent.\nProgram\n– 2.30 pm AEST: Registrations open\n– 3.00 pm AEST: Presentation begins\n– 4.00 pm AEST: Q&A session\n– 4.15 pm AEST: Networking\n– 5.00 pm AEST: Event ends\nCo-sponsored by: Engineers Australia\nEngineers Australia\, Mezzanine Floor\, 44 Market Street\, Sydney\, New South Wales\, Australia\, 2000
