Rabab Ward has 40 years of post-doctoral experience in education, research, development and leadership. She is a Professor Emeritus in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of British Columbia, Canada. She has published over 570 refereed journal and conference papers in signal processing and its applications and holds eight patents,. Her work has been licensed to US and Canadian industries. She holds many distinctions, including being a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, and the first woman with a Ph.D. to be appointed as professor in electrical engineering in Canada.
She has held different leadership positions at the University of British Columbia and as a past president of the IEEE Signal Processing (2016-2017).
