The Human and Organizational Dimensions of Quantum-Safe Transformation: A Privacy Management Perspective
July 11 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Migrating to a quantum-safe cryptographic posture is not merely a technical challenge; it's a profound organizational and human one, with significant implications for data protection and privacy management. This talk will examine the aspects of preparing for the post-quantum era. We will explore the critical need for cryptographic inventory and risk assessment, specifically identifying which data assets are susceptible to "Harvest Now, Decrypt Later" attacks due to their long shelf-life. The discussion will cover the importance of organizational readiness, stakeholder engagement, and executive buy-in to drive this complex transformation. We'll also address the role of privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and data protection by design (DPbD) in the context of PQC adoption, ensuring that new cryptographic deployments align with privacy principles. Finally, we will touch upon the educational and workforce development needs to equip cybersecurity professionals with the skills required to navigate this shift.
