Hiruni Hettiarachchi

Hiruni Hettiarachchi is an Associate Business Analyst and Project Lead at OrangeHRM. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Westminster.

Hailing from the IEEE Sri Lanka Section (Region 10), Hiruni began her IEEE journey in 2020 as a volunteer with the IEEE Student Branch of Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT), during which she served as the Chairperson of the IEEE Women in Engineering Student Branch Affinity Group of IIT.

Over the years, she has actively contributed to numerous projects and initiatives under the IEEE Sri Lanka Section, mainly within IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka and the IEEE WIE Affinity Group of Sri Lanka. Among her most notable contributions are her involvement in organizing IEEE Education Week Sri Lanka in 2023 and 2024, and serving as the Secretary of the IEEE Sri Lanka Section SYW Congress 2023, the flagship event of the IEEE Sri Lanka Section. She has also held leadership roles within the IEEE WIE Affinity Group of Sri Lanka, first as Student Representative and later as Secretary.

In recognition of her contributions, Hiruni was awarded the Section Outstanding WIE Volunteer Award (Student Category) by the IEEE Sri Lanka Section in 2024.
