Young Professionals Hall of Fame Award
The IEEE Young Professionals Hall of Fame Award acknowledges and celebrates the outstanding contributions of active and inspiring Young Professionals Affinity Groups and IEEE Societies and Councils Groups. Each year, up to two Affinity Groups and up to two Society / Council Groups are recognized for their exceptional activities. Recipients of this prestigious award will be presented with a commemorative plaque, featuring the award citation bestowed by the IEEE Young Professionals. In addition, they will receive a cash prize of 500 USD, earmarked to support future activities and initiatives led by these accomplished Young Professionals in their Society/ Council/ Affinity Groups, respectively.
Number of awards that will be awarded per Group, per year:
Up to two (2) IEEE Societies or Councils, and
Up to two (2) Young Professionals Affinity Groups
Eligibility Criteria:
- The officers of the YP Affinity Group must be reported and updated on vTools by the time of the application;
- All activities from 2024 must be submitted correctly to vTools by the time of the application;
- The YP Affinity Group must have at least 20 Young Professionals members;
- The YP Affinity Group has not been awarded the IEEE Young Professionals Hall of Fame Award in the past 3 years (for years of 2024-2022);
- The $500 prize must be used to support local Young Professionals activities.
Nomination process:
Proposals for nominations for this award will be made by the Society/Council/Section and supported by 1 letter of endorsement of the Society/Council/Section Chair or another member of the Society/Council/Section’s Executive Committee, respectively.
Alternatively, the nomination for this award can be made by the respective chair, provided that his/her nomination is endorsed by at least 1 other Young Professionals member and preferably also by a member of the Executive Committee of their Society/Council/Section, respectively.
The documents needed to create a nomination are:
- Report containing photos, videos, and/or other supporting materials to demonstrate the activities and initiatives of the Young Professionals AG during the past year.
Suggestion: Please consider making a summarized report, focusing on the quality of the activities organized [use metrics when possible and which funding used] to show the impact on the community. Also include the team, membership overview, any awards received and special achievements. Consider using the word template available on the IEEE YP website, under “Volunteer Resources\Guides and Graphics ”. - Motivation letter from the Young Professionals Affinity Group Chair
- Endorsement letter from the Society/Council/Section Chair or another member of the Section’s Executive Committee, OR an endorsement letter from the Nominee Group Chair and another Young Professionals AG member and a member of the Section’s Executive Committee.

Selection Committee
The award committee reserves the right to present no award if the committee is not satisfied with the standard or quality of entries received. The decision of the awards committee is final.
Record/Notification
The IEEE Young Professionals Committee Chair notifies the result of selection by email to individual award recipients. The Awards & Recognition Committee Chair will make an official result announcement to the YP Committee and maintain a record of award recipients on the Hall of Fame Website.
