IEEE Young Professionals Türkiye Review Meeting: IEEE Photonics Conference (IPC) 2025
Representing IEEE Young Professionals Türkiye as our Photonics Society Representative, Sinan Genç, and our Women in Engineering Affinity Group Representative, Doğa Umaç, participated in the IEEE Photonics Conference (IPC 2025), held between 9–13 November 2025 in Singapore. Both representatives earned the opportunity to attend through the prestigious Photonics Society travel grant, proudly representing IEEE Young Professionals Türkiye on the global stage.
The IEEE Photonics Conference is one of the flagship events in the field, bringing together leading researchers, industry experts, and innovators working across photonics, optoelectronics, quantum technologies, optical communications, integrated photonics, sensing systems, and emerging device technologies. The conference features plenary talks, technical sessions, workshops, and forums exploring the latest scientific breakthroughs and their applications.
Throughout the conference, our representatives engaged in technical sessions, established valuable professional connections, and explored collaboration opportunities with international research groups and industry partners. They return with significant insights, strengthened networks, and a rich experience that will contribute to our community’s ongoing development.
In the upcoming period, the IEEE Young Professionals Türkiye Executive Board and our representatives will convene to review IPC 2025 — highlighting key takeaways, evaluating our presence, and identifying avenues for future cooperation and community engagement within the photonics field.
