The IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) Young Professionals (YPs) Committee has established the annual IEEE ComSoc Best YP Awards, one for each of the following areas:
- Academia;
- Industry;
- Start-Up.
The vision for these awards is best explained in words of the IEEE ComSoc YP Committee Chair, Dr. Lola Awoniyi-Oteri: “Many Young Professionals are making outstanding contributions to the technology field and are worthy of recognition. The ComSoc Best YP Awards provide a platform for ComSoc Young Professionals to be recognized for their achievements; at the same time, the awards serve to inspire all Young Professionals to contribute their very best to the field.”

The winners will be awarded during the ComSoc Young Professionals Reception, at GLOBECOM 2016, in Washington DC, USA. In fact, this conference, which meets once a year, attracts roughly 2000 leading scientists, researchers and industry practitioners from all around the world.
