A workshop on the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) with a focus on the Internet of Things technologies for healthcare took place on 23 June 2018, at the Faculty of Science (FSS) of Sfax-Tunisia. The primary objective of this work was to realize forum for discussion and technical presentations on the recent advances in theory, application and implementation of the Internet of Things(IoT) and the Internet of Everything(IoE) concepts in the healthcare domain.
Since a lot of health-related decisions are to be made these days, there is a growing need to harness the technology for value-based care. The Internet of Medical Things has the potential to influence healthcare by confronting challenges such as security, interoperability, and analytics. It also has the potential to meet the promise of helping expand access to quality care in a cost-efficient way. The experts are predicting rapid growth in IoMT adoption. This one-day event, which included theoretical lectures encompassing various spin-off subject of IoMT, has been a great opportunity to bring together practitioners and researchers from both academia and industry.
The workshop consisted of several keynote speeches, short presentations and also hands-on training sessions delivered by academic researchers from different universities as well as industry experts in Tunisia.
Around 50 members participated in the workshop and made it a successful event.
